Erik Nissen Johansen
Erik Nissen Johansen is the founder and creative director of global award-winning hospitality design studio Stylt in Gothenburg, Sweden. For more than 25 years, Stylt has combined concept development, interior architecture, design, and branding to create unique hotel and restaurant experiences for clients all over the world. Under Erik’s leadership, Stylt has won several awards
Global UNESCO Prix Versailles for best hotel interior twice; National Geographic Traveller Big Sleep Awards twice; Several AHEAD awards; Best New Boutique Hotel in the World IH&P award for world's best SPA design, to mention a few.
So far the portfolio includes more than 400 restaurants and 250 hotels.
Since co-founding AXIA Design in 2012, Taymoore’s body of work includes cultural and educational buildings, places of worship, workplaces, and residential buildings from infill to highrise. Prior to this, he leads projects at several leading global firms, including Massimiliano Fuksas, Fernando Menis, and KPMB Architects. He is a licensed architect in Ontario (OAA) and in the European Union (TEE), and a registered Interior Designer (NCIDQ). He serves as Associate Professor at Ryerson University’s School of Interior Design in the Faculty of Communication & Design (FCAD), after teaching at the Schools of Architecture at Ryerson University, the University of Waterloo, and the University of Toronto. Taymoore has been recognized as one of Canada’s emerging voices in Architecture, receiving 2 major national awards, the Prix de Rome and the Young Architect Award (awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts and the RAIC respectively), as well as leading numerous award-winning projects at AXIA.
