“De Koningsspelen” are jointly organised by all Dutch after school language
programs, the Dutch Association and the Dutch Consulate. Four years ago our
then new installed King Willem Alexander initiated the games. Every year more
than 1.3 million students all over the world join the King’s games, which makes
the event an enormous success. In the Netherlands, students start with a healthy
breakfast and do sports afterwards, in order to promote healthy eating and
healthy living. This is also the objective of this day: students experience that it is
fun to exercise!

From 1:00pm - 3:00pm the festival will be exclusively for Dutch students, as we use
it also to promote the Dutch language. From 3:00pm - 5:00pm, Dutch students will
host a ‘flee market’, one of the habits on Kings’ day in The Netherlands. There will
be Dutch games (in English), in which all children can participate.
