About the talk

Turning art and culture into economically sustainable enterprises has always been a perennial challenge. The Amsterdam-based Van Gogh Museum boasts over four decades of international museum management expertise. As one of the most visited museums in the world, Van Gogh Museum is also a much sought-after partner in the cultural and business communities. In this talk, Alice van der Slikke, the Van Gogh Museum’s Business Manager, will share entrepreneurship cases that promote the Museum and its priceless collection on one hand, and create social and economic values on the other.

The Van Gogh Museum is home to a relatively small but world-famous collection, including some fragile items. The Museum welcomes approximately 2.2 million international visitors annually. Important research on the life and work of Vincent van Gogh and the art of his time is also conducted at the Museum.
